This flight falls under EU Regulation 261/2004: when you arrive 3 hours late or more, or the flight is cancelled at short notice, the airline must compensate each passenger, depending on the flight distance. Nothing is owed if the delay was caused by extraordinary circumstances (dangerous weather, air traffic control, security). The time limit to claim depends on the country and is often several years.
